The plans begin

Global warming has finally started to thaw the grip winter has locked on the South for the past three months. We have at last gotten the bikes out and started getting ready for our next tour. We are going back the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay. Susan and I toured this area in May of 2004 (http://www.bowersteam.com/chesapeake_04.html). We had a great time, and our biking friends Rod and Cheryl wanted to see it as well, so we are headed back to get a second look.

The plan is to leave May 7th and drive to Onancock Va. From there we travel the same route Susan and I traveled for two days. We will then head further north to Chestertown and then back south and finally returning to Onancock. We will be riding the tandem and pulling the BOB trailer, but no camping. This is a much more civilized bike trip. We will be staying at B&B’s, local hotels and motels. No camp food this trip. Sit-down restaurants and adult beverages only. Of course we will still face monsoons, tsunamis, and hurricane force winds but that is what gives our trips character! So follow us on our blog to see how each day turns out.

I will be updating occasionally as we get closer to kick-off and of course daily as the trip begins. Hope you enjoy the trip with us.
